Position Overview

The Regional Director, Operations will be leading multiple dental practice locations, ensuring alignment with goals, regulatory compliance, and exceptional patient care. This role involves team management, financial oversight, operational excellence, and strategic planning. The successful candidate will manage four office managers ensuring staff alignment and stepping in for day-to-day operations as needed. Financial acumen is essential as this individual will collaborate with the accounting specialist to manage budgets, review financial statements, and ensure profitability while controlling costs.

This ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing procedures to enhance patient care and service quality while ensuring compliance with dental regulations, especially in sedation dentistry. The successful candidate will contribute to strategic planning, execute growth strategies, oversee staff training initiatives, and focus on fostering a positive patient experience at every touchpoint. As the linchpin of operational success, the Regional Director, Operations role drives efficiency, ensures compliance, fosters patient satisfaction, and strategizes for continuous practice growth and excellence.

Role & Responsibilities


  • Oversee operations across all locations, ensuring staff alignment with the organization's goals and values.
  • Manage and develop a team of four office managers and ensure leadership development behind them.
  • Step in as needed to run an office's day-to-day operations if called upon.
  • Work alongside our clients’s in-house accounting specialist to manage budgets, financial planning, and cost control to maximize profitability and efficiency.
  • Review PNL’s monthly, knowing the performance benchmarks to ensure profitability.
  • Design, implement, and monitor existing operational procedures to enhance patient care and service quality.
  • Own the recruitment process, including onboarding, talent development, performance reviews, and offboarding.
  • Ensure all practices comply with dental regulations and safety standards, particularly in sedation dentistry.
  • Develop and execute strategies for business growth and expansion.
  • Work closely and manage the Director of Education to oversee the development of in-house Dental Skills ‘University’ to enhance team skills, particularly in sedation techniques.
  • Foster a positive patient experience across all touchpoints, including maintaining best in class telephone and intake skills.
  • Assist patients with operational, medical, and financial concerns.
  • Educate patients about products and services.
  • Collaborate on marketing strategies with designated in-house recruiter to attract new team members and engage with the community.
  • Interact with our clients’s outsourced marketing department to ensure strong new patient flow consistent with their metrics for success.
  • Oversee the adoption of dental technology and software systems.
  • Regularly review practice performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, including monthly QC checklist of practice facility, morale and other performance metrics vital to their brand.
  • Track and teach KPI’s of every position in the offices.
  • Meet regularly with Whitehall management and continue to guide our clients toward the practice you would want to be a patient in.
  • Travel to offices in other areas of the country and world to gain insight into new ways of delivering the highest quality patient experience.
  • Conduct quarterly and yearly reviews.
  • Provide feedback to ensure continued success.
  • Ensure a culture of trust, teamwork, accountability, and respect.

  • Daily: Oversee operations, address immediate issues, communicate with head staff, and monitor patient feedback.
  • Weekly: Review financials, conduct team meetings, plan staff training, and assess marketing initiatives.
  • Monthly: Analyze performance metrics, adjust strategies, report to stakeholders, and oversee compliance and safety audits.

Experience Requirements


  • 3-5 years of dental management experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Certification and knowledge of LMA.
  • A proven track record in leadership and team management, preferably in a healthcare or dental setting.
  • Experience in overseeing multiple locations or branches.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, financial planning, and analyzing profit and loss statements.
  • Experience in maximizing profitability while controlling costs.
  • Experience negotiating with vendors.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing operational procedures to enhance patient care, ensure compliance with regulatory standards (especially in dentistry), and improve overall operational efficiency.
  • Experience in developing and executing strategies for business growth, expansion, and operational improvement within a healthcare or dental context.
  • Experience in managing and overseeing staff training programs, particularly in dental techniques or healthcare practices, to enhance the skills of the team.
  • A track record of fostering a positive patient or customer experience across various touchpoints within a healthcare or service-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with adopting and integrating dental technology and software systems to streamline operations and improve patient care.
  • Experience in analyzing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes to drive better outcomes.
